Sixty people climbed the city, but the rope broke. The army beat drums and shouted, and the people in the city also shouted. Duke Ju was afraid, so he opened the west gate and fled. On July 14, the Qi army entered Ji Zhang.

Now the officials will ask why, but the emperor really dare not know, who really knows it? At the meeting in Pingqiu, the king asked the old alliance: "If there are two or three officials in the world, and the officials of the Jin Dynasty are despotic, how can they repay their envoys?" Jin people abandoned it.

Unfortunately, several of the ministers of the prince died of illness. Now we have lost our late doctor Yan. His son is young, and several of his fathers and brothers Afraid of severing the clan leader, he discussed with his clan members and established an elder son. The prince and several of his officials said, "Perhaps God has indeed messed up this inheritance law. What can I know?" And you are afraid of passing there, let alone knowing the turmoil sent by heaven? Now the doctor is going to ask about the reason. I really don't dare to know. Who else knows? At the meeting in Pingqiu, the king reviewed the past covenant and said, "Don't let anyone neglect their duties." Some of the ministers are dead, but the officials of Jin want to arbitrarily interfere with their heirs. This means that Jin treats us as a border county. What kind of country are we?" He declined the guest's gift and repaid his envoy, and the people of Jin no longer cared about this matter.
楚人城州来。沈尹戌曰：“楚人必败。昔吴灭州来，子旗请伐之。王曰：‘吾未抚吾民。’今亦如之，而城州来以挑吴，能无败乎？”侍者曰：“王施舍不倦，息民五年，可谓抚之矣。”戌曰：“吾闻抚民者，节用于内，而树德于外，民乐其性，而无寇仇。今宫室无量，民人日骇，劳罢死转，忘寝与食，非抚之也。”

Xu said: "I heard that those who care for the people should use it internally and cultivate virtue externally, so that the people are happy with their nature and have no hatred. Today's palaces are endless and the people are frightened. They forget to sleep and eat. This is not to care for them."

Now the size of the palace is unlimited. The people are always frightened and tired until they die, and no one has been buried. This is not to appease them."
郑大水，龙斗于时门之外洧渊。国人请为禜（yǒng禳水灾之祭）焉，子产弗许，曰：“我斗，龙不我觌（dí见）也。龙斗，我独何觌焉？禳之，则彼其室也。吾无求于龙，龙亦无求于我。”乃止也。

郑国发生大水灾，有龙在时门外边的洧渊争斗，国内的人们请求举行禳灾求福的祭祀。子产不答应，说：“我们争斗，龙不看，龙争斗，我们为什么偏要去看呢？向它们祭祀祈祷，那洧渊本来是龙居住的地方，岂能使它们离开呢？我们对龙没有要求，龙对我们也没有要求。”于是就停止了祭祀。

Why should we watch the dragons fighting? We are offering sacrifices and praying to them. How can we make them leave Weiyuan, where the dragons originally lived? We have no demands on the dragons, and the dragons have no demands on us." So they stopped offering sacrifices.
令尹子瑕言蹶（jué）由于楚子曰：“彼何罪？谚所谓‘室于怒，市于色’者，楚之谓矣。舍前之忿可也。”乃归蹶由。
Ling Yin Zi Xia said Jué because Chu Zi said: "What is his crime? As the proverb says, 'the house is driven by anger, the city is driven by lust', Chu calls it that way. The anger in front of him is OK."
令尹子瑕为蹶由对楚平王说：“他有什么罪？俗话所说‘在家里发怒，而在大街上给人脸色看’，说的就是楚国了。舍弃以前的怨愤可以了。”楚平王就把蹶由放回了吴国。
