楚子入于郢。初，斗辛闻吴人之争宫也，曰：“吾闻之：‘不让则不和，不和不可以远征。’吴争于楚，必有乱。有乱则必归，焉能定楚？”

王之奔随也，将涉于成臼，蓝尹亹涉其帑，不与王舟。及宁，王欲杀之。子西曰：“子常唯思旧怨以败，君何效焉？”王曰：“善。使复其所，吾以志前恶。”王赏斗辛、王孙由于、王孙圉、钟建、斗巢、申包胥、王孙贾、宋木、斗怀。子西曰：“请舍怀也。”王曰：“大德灭小怨，道也。”申包胥曰：“吾为君也，非为身也。君既定矣，又何求？且吾尤子旗，其又为诸？”遂逃赏。王将嫁季羋，季羋辞曰：“所以为女子，远丈夫也。钟建负我矣。”以妻钟建，以为乐尹。

The king rewarded Douxin, Wangsunyu, Wangsunyu, Zhongjian, Douchao, Shenbaoxu, Wangsunjia, Songmu, and Douhuai. Zixi said: "Please give up your feelings." The king said: "Great virtue destroys small grievances, this is the way." Shen Baoxu said: "I am the king, not the body. The king is already established, what else do you ask for? And I, Ziqi, are you all?" Then he escaped from the reward. The king was about to marry Ji Mi, and Ji Mi said: "So I am a woman, far away from my husband. Zhong Jian has betrayed me." Taking Zhong Jian as his wife, she thought she was Le Yin.
楚昭王逃亡到随国的时候，要在成臼渡河，蓝尹亹用船把他妻子儿子先渡过河，不把船给楚昭王用，等到楚国安定以后，楚昭王要杀他。子西说：“当初子常就因为记挂着过去的怨恨而失败，君王为什么学他呢？”楚昭王说：“好，让蓝尹亹官复原职，我用这件事来记住以往的过失。”楚昭王赏赐鬬辛、王孙由于、王孙圉、钟建、鬬巢、申包胥、王孙贾、宋木、鬬怀。子西说：“请您不要赏赐鬬怀！”楚昭王说：“大德消除了小怨，这是合于正道的。”申包胥说：“我是为了国君，不是为了自己。国君已经安定了，我还追求什么？而且我也恨子旗，难道又要去学子旗贪得无厌吗？”于是申包胥就逃避了楚王的赏赐。楚昭王准备把季羋出嫁，季羋辞谢说：“作为女人，就是要远离男人。可是钟建已经背过我了。”楚昭王把她嫁给钟建，封钟建担任乐尹。

King Zhao of Chu said: "The great virtue has eliminated the small grudges, which is in line with the right way." Shen Baoxu said: "I am doing it for the king, not for myself. The king is already settled, what else should I pursue? And I also hate Ziqi, do I want to imitate Ziqi's greed?" So Shen Baoxu escaped from King Chu's reward. King Chu Zhao was going to marry Ji Mi, but Ji Mi declined and said, "As a woman, you have to stay away from men. But Zhong Jian has already turned his back on me." King Chu Zhao married her to Zhong Jian and made Zhong Jian the Le Yin.
王之在随也，子西为王舆服以保路，国于脾泄。闻王所在，而后従王。王使由于城麇，复命，子西问高厚焉，弗知。子西曰：“不能，如辞。城不知高厚，小大何知？”对曰：“固辞不能，子使余也。人各有能有不能。王遇盗于云中，余受其戈，其所犹在。”袒而示之背，曰：“此余所能也。脾泄之事，余亦弗能也。”

When the king's envoy came back to the city, Zixi asked Gao Hou what he was doing, but he didn't know. Zixi said: "I can't, just like words. I don't know how tall the city is, how can I know if it's small or big?" He said to him: "I can't say words for sure, but I can help others. Everyone has his or her own abilities and incompetences. The king encountered a thief in the clouds, and I was attacked by him, but he is still there." He showed his back and said, "This is what I can do. I can't do anything about spleen leakage."

If you don't know the height and thickness of the city wall and the size of the city, what else do you know?" Wang Sunyu replied: "I firmly refused and said I couldn't do it. It was you who asked me to do it. Everyone has something he can do. There are things that can't be done. The king encountered a robber in Yunmengze, and I blocked the robber's attack. The wound is still here!" Wang Sun took off his clothes and showed his back to Zixi, saying, "This is something I can't do. It's like establishing the capital of the king of Chu in Pixie."
